The model number identification label, is located in the area where you light the pilot. It is a silver plate, somewhat like a sticker and a little larger than a postcard. The model and the serial number are printed in bold black numbers.
No. There is no paint on the market that will withstand the high temperatures. Most paints will flake off within a couple days of use and may even be toxic. Additionally, the warning labels affixed to the heater will be destroyed. The paint used at the factory is a specially formulated, high-heat powder coating which is baked on in our commercial ovens.

A "counterflow" system pulls in room air at the top of the furnace, warms the air across the combustion chamber and delivers it at the floor level. This gives an equalized floor-to-ceiling temperature. Direct-Vent Forsaire Counterflow Models include 4007732, 4007731, 6007732, 6007731, 4007332, 4007331, 5507332 and 5507331.
Top-Vent Forsaire Counterflow Models include 6008532, 6008531, 3508632, 3508631, 5008632, 5008631, 6508632, 6508631, 3508232, 3508231, 5508232 and 5508231.
Williams' "gravity" furnaces have no blower to move the heated air around the room. Heated air is circulated because heated air rises and cooler air falls. The Williams' Monterey, Direct-Vent Gravity and Console Room Heaters are examples of "Gravity" furnaces.
Our "Direct-Vent" wall furnace requires installation on an exterior (outside) wall and must vent horizontally through the exterior/outside wall only. The direct-vent type of furnace draws outside air in from the vent tubes and returns the combustibles back through the vent to the outside. Direct-Vent furnaces work great in garages and bedrooms. Direct-Vent Gravity Models include 1403821, 1403822, 2203821, 2203822, 3003621 and 3003622.
Direct-Vent Forsaire Counterflow Models include 4007732, 4007731, 6007732, 6007731, 4007332, 4007331, 5507332 and 5507331.
A "Top-Vent" furnace must be vented vertically up through the roof. This way it may be centrally located inside the home on an inside wall. The combusibles will go up the vent and discharge outside.

Most Williams furnaces have optional blowers, vent kits, side and rear outlet registers and conversion kits. See product literature for complete list and description of available accessories.
Counterflow models, which are equipped with a blower, have higher efficiency levels than the gravity-type models. Adding a blower to a gravity-type model, where the blower is optional, will not increase the furnace's efficiency, but a blower will help warm a room more quickly.
A central heating system distributes heat throughout the living space by a duct system which is attached to the furnace located in the attic, basement or closet. Williams' furnaces are mounted on a wall or free-standing in the room. They are not attached to room ducts, but most models must be vented. Depending on the size of your room or home and your climate, a Williams' furnace may heat your entire home or can be used to heat zones in your home. Zone heating can save your money on your heating bills because you heat only the room you are in and turn the temperature down on your central or main heating system.
All products are approved for sale in Canada except our floor furnaces and vent-free equipment.
