Who Is Williams?

HVAC Solutions Made in America Since 1916

For over 100 years, Williams has delivered industry-leading heating and cooling solutions for homes and businesses. It all started in 1916, when Jesse Williams started building gas steam radiators in Los Angeles under Williams Radiator Company.

Williams’ commitment to quality was clear from the start—and the company’s product line expanded over the years to include gas-fired heating, gravity wall heating, and counterflow furnaces. By 1954, Williams had become a nationwide leader in HVAC solutions, with a distribution and sales network that stretched across the United States.

Our reputation for quality products has only continued to grow. In 1986, Williams acquired Hydro-Aire/LANCO, a major manufacturer of fan coils and air handlers. Then, in 1996, the product line was expanded to include room console heaters. Today, we’re proud to offer more fan coil sizes and configurations than any other HVAC company in the United States.

The Williams Way

Leading the Future of HVAC Solutions

Jesse Williams understood that his company had to adapt to grow—and so do we. Today, we use numerically controlled machinery to ensure both precision and quality. All of our products are tested to the highest standards set by the National Bureau of Standards. We perform all engineering, R&D, testing, and manufacturing at our factory in Colton, California.

Above all, we’re dedicated to treating our customers with respect and integrity. Over the years, our customers have come to expect the same quality from us as our industry-leading products.

HVAC Excellence for Over a Century

We strive to build a better comfort of life for everyone!

For over 100 years, Williams has been a market leader in providing high-quality HVAC products for residential and commercial buildings. It all started in 1916, when Jesse Williams began building gas steam radiators in Los Angeles under the banner Williams Radiator Company. That changed in 1945 with the end of World War II and men returning home to California with the need for affordable single-family housing. Jesse then shifted his sights to heating those many 1,500 square foot homes. The company’s product line expanded over the next few decades to include gas-fired heating, gravity wall heating, and counterflow furnaces. By 1954, Williams had expanded to a nationwide player, with a distribution and sales network that reached customers throughout the United States.

Williams’ reputation for quality products only increased, and in 1986 the company acquired a Los Angeles-based company, Hydro-Aire/LANCO, a major manufacturer of fan coils and air handlers. As a result, Williams now offers to the commercial/ industrial market more configurations and size options of quality fan coils and blower coils/ air handlers than any other HVAC company in North America.

Commercial Projects

Williams Integrated Piping System (IPS) in a multi-family project will reduce the capital cost of construction up to $6/sq. ft. over a four-pipe fan coil system and $2/sq. ft. over a standard Vertical PTAC/VTAC. While the first cost of installation is impressive and very palatable to the developer, operation costs are equally impressive with energy cost from only $0.62 to $0.90/ sq. ft.
